Students are working on new CAMSAT Amateur Radio Satellite named CAS-2.

Southgate Amateur Radio News: CAMSAT and students at the Qian Youth Space Academy are working on their next amateur radio satellite CAS-2.

Their first satellite CAS-1 was launched in December 2009 and its linear and FM transponders proved very popular.

It is understood that CAS-1 will carry an amateur radio FM transponder and the launch is planned for 2014 into a 1000 km orbit with an inclination of 12 degrees. This orbit means it may not be receivable in those countries at high latitudes.

A CAMSAT announcement indicates that two seperate CAS-2 satellite structures are being built, A1 and A2.
